Cooloorta Postcards #2-5 (Tones For Loobie / Cheeky Dove Mumbles / Scraping Scorched Oatmeal For An Uninvited Slug / County Clare Arbitrary Broadcast Conglomeration, April 2014) [NDAS 2014-05] are a series of audio recordings made in Ireland at Cooloorta during a stay between the NWW events taking place at the time. The first part layers three different attempts at coaxing sounds out of Steve Stapleton's idiosyncratic and tonally ambivalent harmonium. There were usually three notes that it would play constantly, but, through the application of a carefully-positioned teaspoon, I was sometimes able to bring that down to two. Loobie herself provided the brief coda. The next two parts are fairly self-explanatory, and the last part superimposes several layers of sounds coaxed from County Clare's local broadcast spectrum. Slightly different, non-integrated versions of these recordings were included on the expanded ‘Matériaux Déplacés’ release in 2015.
